Note on Optimal Gossiping in Some Weak-Connected Graphs

چکیده
The problems of gossiping and broadcasting in one-way communication mode are investigated. Optimal algorithms for gossip problem are known only for the complete graphs, paths, some simple trees, and cycles. In this paper some lower bounds on gossiping in graphs with bridges or with edge disjoint cycles are proved. A direct consequence of these lower bounds are optimal gossip algorithms for some families of weak-connected graphs. Another question considered here is the relation between the gossip problem and the broadcast problem. Gossiping cannot be harder than two times broadcasting, and only for trees it is known that gossiping is exactly two times harder than broadcasting. Using the above mentioned lower bounds some other graphs (having cycles) with this property are found.

A note on Fouquet-Vanherpe’s question and Fulkerson conjecture
The excessive index of a bridgeless cubic graph $G$ is the least integer $k$, such that $G$ can be covered by $k$ perfect matchings. An equivalent form of Fulkerson conjecture (due to Berge) is that every bridgeless cubic graph has excessive index at most five. Clearly, Petersen graph is a cyclically 4-edge-connected snark with excessive index at least 5, so Fouquet and Vanherpe as...

We use simple compound properties of de Bruijn related networks to get new bounds about broadcasting and gossiping on such networks. We get some asymptotically optimal results on undi-rected de Bruijn, Kautz, and generalization of the shuue-exchange networks. Our techniques allow more generally to derive eecient broadcasting protocols for the undirected graph associated to a line digraph. As ex...
متن کاملFrobenius circulant graphs of valency four
A first kind Frobenius graph is a Cayley graph Cay(K,S) on the Frobenius kernel of a Frobenius group K o H such that S = a for some a ∈ K with 〈a〉 = K, where H is of even order or a is an involution. It is known that such graphs admit ‘perfect’ routing and gossiping schemes. A circulant graph is a Cayley graph on a cyclic group of order at least three. Since circulant graphs are widely used as ...
متن کاملGossiping and routing in second-kind Frobenius graphs
A Frobenius group is a permutation group which is transitive but not regular such that only the identity element can fix two points. It iswell known that such a group is a semidirect productG = KoH , where K is a nilpotent normal subgroup of G. A second-kind GFrobenius graph is a Cayley graph Γ = Cay(K , aH ∪ (a−1)H) for some a ∈ K with order ≠ 2 and ⟨aH⟩ = K , where H is of odd order and xH de...
متن کاملOn 4-valent Frobenius circulant graphs
A 4-valent first-kind Frobenius circulant graph is a connected Cayley graph DLn(1, h) = Cay(Zn, H) on the additive group of integers modulo n, where each prime factor of n is congruent to 1 modulo 4 and H = {[1], [h],−[1], −[h]} with h a solution to the congruence equation x + 1 ≡ 0 (mod n). In [A. Thomson and S. Zhou, Frobenius circulant graphs of valency four, J. Austral. Math. Soc. 85 (2008)...
